Rally Obedience with a Manchester Terrier

Rally is a growing obedience activity that has only recently been recogonised by The Kennel Club (KC). We have a small number of Manchester Terriers now competing in Rally and we would love to see more of you enjoying the sport.

More about Rally

Rally is a form of obedience that involves the dog being at heel whilst navigating a course of numbered signs with various obedience related instructions. A judge preplans the course and at Level 1 (L1) there can be between 10-15 signs increasing to 15-17 signs at L5 and L6. At L1 and L2 dogs compete on a loose lead. At all other levels up to L6 the dogs are off lead.

Competitors start the course with 200 points and deductions are made by the judge for errors such as a tight lead, out of position and not completing the exercise. Other errors may result in the disqualification of the dog. A score of 170 and over is a qualifying score and over 190 is an excellent score. Progression from one level to the next requires three qualifying scores of 170 or better at that level each from a different judge.
