Statement from BMTC chair re Manchester Terrier Association  (Proposed)

Manchester Terrier Association  (Proposed)

I write in response to members enquires, and to inform members that the above proposed Manchester Terrier Association, which has been formed by a group of our members which they are entitled to do.  Their intention appears to be that after a period of time and support they will apply to the Kennel Club for full registration under KC rules, presently it is not KC regulated.  Please be aware that the British Manchester Terrier Club will still continue to be a full working Club and has not ceased to be, but maybe at some time in the future there will be two Manchester clubs.  I refer you to the BMTC Club Rules which state our Clubs objectives:-

To encourage the breeding of Manchester Terriers in accordance with the breed Standard.

To help members and other interested parties to preserve the true type and character of the breed.

To promote the varied talents of the breed at dogs shows, agility competitions, obedience, heel work to music, exhibitions, and the Kennel Club Good Citizens Scheme.

These objectives are the basis of all the work that we do to ensure that our breed will survive for years to come, fit and healthy with good temperament, dogs that are able to show, compete and still be a family pet.
