Promoting the Breed

Breed Stands

The Manchester Terrier is a Vulnerable British Native Breed. Although it’s history dates back to Tudor times many people have not heard about or seen our breed. Our goal is to change this. One way we can do that is by promoting the breed at events such as Country Fairs, Discover Dogs, Pet Shows, and other dog related events on breed stands.

More About Breed Stands

Each year we organise a number of breed stands at different events, see 'Events'. They are a great social event for Manchester Terrier owners and a brilliant way to showcase our breed to a wider audience.

It is also a good way for people who are interested in owning a Manchester Terrier to meet owners and dogs and find out more about the breed. Although there are still many people that have not heard about our breed we are increasingly being recognised at these events. This is a testament to all the owners and their dogs that work so hard to promote the breed across the country. All of the dogs are great ambassadors and provide a true representation of our wonderful breed.

Volunteering to represent the breed on stands is both rewarding and fun. The dogs enjoy interacting with the public and have fun. If you would like to be involved with a breed stand listed or want to organise your own stand at an event please speak to one of the organisers listed.
