FUN WEEKEND – 15-16 JULY 2017

The weekend of 15th/16th July saw another very successful BMTC fun weekend.

Saturday was dedicated to fun with your Manchester and despite quite a wet start, which did not dampen any moods, all the reports indicate everyone had a blast!

As always the terrier racing was extremely popular with the very successful flyball running alongside. Was fantastic to watch the commandos demistrating their team skill including Onyx showing just how versatile our breed has become!!

There was good interest in the rally and obedience workshops followed by competitions which were also well  attended! Another example of this breeds versatility !!!

And finally there was Manchester Mayhem, designed to test your friends problem solving and patients as they were taken through 6 different tasks, to many owners amazement the sledge pull proved a hit with many MT’s staying on whilst being pulled along!!!

After all the games had finished there was a fancy dress completion, some amazing costumes had been made for dogs and owners!! Well done to all who made the effort and took part!

During the day there was a session on handling, allowing people who have never shown gain an insight into how what’s involved, some practicing for the next day’s show!

The evening involved a friendly get together in the club where, after a lovely meal, there was various fun quizzes testing general and doggy knowledge. Everyone reported having a really great time chatting with others who share their love for this wonderful breed.

Sunday was a little more serious with the BMTC limit show taking place, a chance for those who have never had a go at showing to try in a more relaxed setting.

We had a fabulous entry of ¬†16 dogs and 29 bitches. Lovely to see some MT’s that live as part of the family strutting their stuff along side those more accustomed to the show ring.

Judges were Suzanne Smith for dogs and Lesley Olbinson for bitches.

BIS went to Megellan Rudi Blue, RBIS and BOS went to Nightfury Bold Adventure and BPIS was Westwytch La Vie Est Belle.

The weekend came to a close with a mini Mooch to a local pub, attended by 28 Manchesters followed by Pizza in the club house.

Thanks to all committee members, all who helped with the running of activities and especially to all the members who made this a successful and very enjoyable weekend.
