28/06/20

I hope you’ve all been enjoying the nice weather we’ve been having, well up to this weeks rain!!
Please remember your dog can overheat very quickly and untreated can prove fatal, I see so many dog owners walking their dogs in the heat, if its too hot for you its double for them!!
Something people tend to overlook is the fact that the ground becomes very hot too, if its too hot for you to stand on then its definitely too hot for your dogs paws!!!
Now for the fun stuff…………….
Welcome to the BMTC Virtual Summer of Fun…..
When you are reading this the British Manchester Terrier club VSOF will have commenced!
With the cancellation of the fun weekend the committee decided to hold several FREE online events to test your MT’s skills whilst having some fun together.
With FREE photo competitions, fun quizzes, Q&A with the committee & more.
There will also be raffles & online auctions of dog & non dog items.
Kicking off with the Fancy dress photo competition, there are three categories to enter, under 12’s, 12-17’s and 18+ to give everyone a good chance to win!
This will run for two weeks until the 15th July when the Dogs got talent photo and video competition will start.
A separate photo competition will run throughout the VSOF with various categories, which will be announced fortnightly.
There will be a dedicated FB page with created albums to post your pictures to for each individual competition & classes, once that competition commences.
The VSOF will run through out July and August so there will be plenty of chances for everyone to take part and win some fantastic prizes.
The fun will end with a virtual members dog show, with various classes to show off your beautiful dogs.
So even if you’re not taking part, head over to the BMTC VSOF page to see the photos & videos that have been entered by others!!
More information of the events in next weeks notes.
Looks like, with the easing of lockdowns, there may be some shows taking part later in the year!
Hopefully other events will be allowed to take place as I know there is a lot of MT’s & their owners going a bit stir crazy, including me!!!
I suppose one benefit of the lockdown is that it have given owners plenty of time to practice their skills and learn new ones with their dogs!!
Have a good week!
