East Anglia Manchester Mooch Sunday 28th October, report from Jeanette Geragty:

We were very lucky with the weather and enjoyed glorious sunshine the whole way round despite it raining earlier in the morning, I’m sure we made into double figures temperature wise. In all there were 21 Manchesters and 3 honorary Manchesters with their respective owners some of whom had travelled some distance to be on the mooch, ranging from Essex, Hertfordshire and Hull! The walk was around 2hrs long through forest tracks which we didn’t realise we would be sharing with a charity horse ride of around 60 horses hacking out in pairs making it quite interesting for all concerned! However, all dogs were very well behaved and easily called into the side allowing the riders to pass. Only one loose dog decided to try and catch up with a rider but soon realised the main pack, food and fun were not following so quickly returned. The walk was finished off by a short paddle in the river, not many takers there! The honorary MTs however, didn’t have a problem and enjoyed the paddle. We returned to our cars for lunch, everyone had taken something ranging from soups, scones, chocolate brownies, cake – all homemade. Plenty teas and coffees to wash it down with whilst we basked in the sun. One couple out for a walk approached our group to find out about the dogs and they knew they were Manchesters, who would have thought that a few years ago!!? I think we all enjoyed the Mooch going home with a belly full of excellent food and tired out dogs. Hopefully we won’t have to wait too long before another mooch is planned.

Keep me posted of your MT’s activities. Don’t forget to visit our breed stand this weekend at the NEC pet show!!
