Whilst our judge was on her lunch break we held some special classes that were judged by Jeanette Geraghty.

Once again congratulations to the committee on a very well ran show with a fantastic atmosphere, lovely as always to see new people coming to try their first time at showing and enjoying it. Also lovely to see future owners coming to check the breed out and ask lots of questions from the other exhibitors and those with years of experience. The AGM was held once the showing was completed and had a good attendance with some good points raised.

I think its safe to say the BIS handler/ co owner Diane was rather pleased:

Wow wow wow what a day!! Ember (Rattustrap Fade To Black (a.i.)) wins the Open Bitch class, Best Bitch & Best in Show at the BMTC club open show!! Thank you to our judge Bethany Cawley for thinking so highly of our special girl. Huge thanks to co owners Estella Phil and breeders Estella Phil and  Jo Ann Emrick for your amazing friendship and ongoing support. Congratulations  to all other winners and exhibitors who helped make yesterday a happy and very friendly show.

Also have to mention Hellers and House Marlablue McQueen at Floreydown was Reserve Best Puppy in Show at the Terrier Club of Devon and Cornwall!!

Now on to the big one…..

CRUFTS 2020!!!!

I am reporting on the show side this week but will have reports on the other amazing disciplines our fabulous breed took part and were successful in over the four days in next weeks notes.

Our Judge Mrs B O’Neil had a good entry to choose her winners from:

DCC BV & BOB: CH Felfree Rocket SHCM. Mrs J & DR G Ferguson.

BCC: CH Digelsa Date Night at Holtaire. Mr & Mrs J A Goodwin

BP: Digelsa Dark Sensation. Mr P & Mrs Y Usher.

RDCC CH Talanors Diamond Tornado. Mr L & Mrs A Spain

RBCC: Rattustrap Fade to Black (A.I.). Mrs D, Mr P N, Miss E A, Church, Dale & Saxton.

The atmosphere around the ring was fantastic, lovely to see newbies getting good placings, the Ushers Puppy Chester is their first MT and first attempt at showing so was a fantastic result for them to get best puppy dog and then go on to win best puppy in breed!!!! ( they do train at my ring craft class so especially chuffed for them )

Jane Ferguson came back to the big show ring with Finn who unbelievably is now a veteran!

She writes:

Must admit it took a while to calm down! I’ve watched the video of the breed judging and I look as cool as a cucumber when he wins yet inside I was screaming with delight! Chuffed to win veteran (sorry Mr D!) I was not expecting to get anything in the dog challenge (he is knocking on 8). Winning the ticket and then BOB was one of those things you dream about but never think will happen. A truly fantastic day, one we will never forget!

Jane Goodwin was our finalist for the Vulnerable breeds finals with Nancy on the Thursday and was showing on Sunday, she summed up the occasion:

Had the most amazing Crufts 2020!

Ch Digelsa Date Night at Holtaire, on Thursday Nancy made it through to the last 6 in the final of the Vulnerable Breeds competition under all rounder Jeff Horswell and yesterday in the breed judging won a quality open bitch class and the bitch CC – We are thrilled with Nancy’s achievements – and she took it all in her stride – a huge thank you to our breed specialist judge Bev O’Neill for thinking so highly of our girl. Grateful thanks to Mick and Gill for our gorgeous Nancy and your continued help and advice and a huge thanks to all our lovely friends in the breed for the congratulations – it was the loveliest atmosphere ringside. Congratulations to Jane Ferguson and Finn on  the dog CC BOB  and for being a super bench neighbour ! and to Yvonne and Chester on your best puppy, Dianne and Ember on the RCC and Laurence and Chester on the RCC.

The Talanors team were our representation in the big ring on Friday for the Breeders stakes final. Their team captain Gill writes:

The Talanors team took on the task of representing Manchesters in the breeders finals this year. The top 40 teams in the country were invited to compete with a team of four dogs all bred by the same breeders. The dogs were Troy, Chester, Trick and Faith on the day but Tara and Barney had competed during the year.  The owners all enjoyed their day in the competition and being in the big ring at Crufts. We all enjoyed a good night out after the event.

Christy who is a member of the team also wrote:

This was my second stroll around the main arena as part of the Talanors breeders team but this year I had a youngster (diva) on the end of the lead which made it even more nerve wracking.. The whole team were amazing, all the dogs took it in their stride and I was super proud to be part of it again.

Report on pocket rocket Onyx, the discover dogs dream team and our Obrediance team MRU in the finals!!!

Special thanks to Steve and Dianne Church for setting up and taking down the breed stand at the side of the ring, with thanks to Steve and those who helped manned it throughout the day.

Have a good week.
