03/02/19

Well it certainly has been a cold one this week with lots of pictures around of MTs enjoying the snow or cuddling by the fire, it was so cold Linda Shaw had to cancel a Mooch!! Her next one will be Tilford Green, GU10 2BU. Saturday 2nd March, 10.30am.

Simone Lesters girl made it onto Tv last week, in the top 100 dogs Spritzer was a very respectable No46!! Not bad as last year MTs didn’t make it into the top 100 at all! Our fantastic breed is certainly turning heads and being recognised as the versatile and majestic terrier it always has been.

Talking of versatility on 03/02/19 our Manchesters Reunited team, Ann and Chris Harrison’s Sophie and Teal, Helen Fletchers Shimmy and Sue Pinkham’s Lexi, came 3rd at the Derby Obreedience competition!!! A fantastic start to this years heats and hopefully a good omen for Crufts!!!!

Congratulations to the team.

Sue’s Katie also has a good day with her 3rd excellent L1 rally with a fab score of 200!!!

Our fabulous breed will be well represented at Crufts this year, running from 7th-10th March

MRU are taking part in the Obrediance finals on the Thursday afternoon, Gill and Clive Knights Talanors team are in the Breeders stakes final on the Friday, Garry Minnikin’s Flyball Team Focus will be competing over the weekend, hopefully Onyx will get to run her little legs off as the competition progresses and not forgetting there is the breed showing on the Saturday, MTs have an early starts, first in the ring at 09:00!!! Throughout the four days there will be people manning the Discovery Dogs stand with various MTs so please feel free to come and have a chat.

Lastly some sad news. The MT community came together last week when Bobby, a 6year old from Edgerly, Stockport went missing after being attacked by a dog whilst playing in the park. Days were spent putting posters up and giving flyers out but despite everyone’s best efforts he didn’t make it home. Everyone’s best wishes went to his owners Carolyn and Gordon. It’s always heartbreaking when someone suffers the loss of their companion through another’s failure to control their dog. I know many gave their MTs extra cuddles the day he was found.

Take care of your pals.
